PTE Coaching Online Nepal 2026: Self-Study vs 1-on-1 Mentorship — Which One Is Right for You?

One of the most common questions I receive from Nepali students preparing for PTE Academic is: "Didi, can I prepare on my own or should I take 1-on-1 sessions?" All PTE Nepal coaching is now private 1-on-1, in three plans of 7 days, 17 days or 1 month. The answer depends on exactly where you are right now — not where you want to be.

This guide explains both options, who each is designed for, what is covered, and how to decide.

Why Online PTE Coaching Works for Nepal

Nepali students are spread across three time zones: Nepal (GMT+5:45), Australia (GMT+10 to GMT+11), and Canada (GMT-3.5 to GMT-8). Physical institute classes in Kathmandu are not an option for the growing Nepali diaspora abroad.

My online model has run since 2022. Many students have achieved 79+ scores and consistent results across all four skills. These outcomes reflect structured strategy and focused preparation — your score depends on your English ability, task performance, and Pearson's official scoring criteria. Note on PTE Academic vs PTE Core: PTE Academic is the test for study abroad, university admissions, and Australian and UK visas. If you are applying for Canadian permanent residency or economic immigration, you need PTE Core, not PTE Academic. The coaching options below apply to PTE Academic. 1-on-1 Mentorship

Stuck below your target? The 79+ Sprint

Private 1-on-1 coaching, from US$99: pick 7 days, 17 days or 1 month, one live session a day at a time that suits you, a demo session included, and Coach-Until-Target on the longer plans.

Option 1: Self-Study

What's Included

  • Duration: self-paced
  • Schedule: your own
  • Materials: free PTE guides on the PTE Nepal blog
  • Benchmarking: scored mock tests on Pearson's official practice platform
  • Support: none — you read your own score report

Who Is Self-Study For?

  • Students preparing for their first PTE attempt who can follow a structured plan without outside accountability
  • Students whose scored mock result is already close to their target
  • Students with six weeks or more before their test date

What Self-Study Does Not Cover

Individual score report analysis. On your own, it is hard to see which task pattern is pulling your score down. If you have received a PTE score report and know exactly which tasks are pulling you down, 1-on-1 is more efficient.

Option 2: 1-on-1 Mentorship

What's Included

  • Duration: 7-day, 17-day or 1-month plans, with one live session a day
  • Price: set for your country. See current 1-on-1 plans and prices
  • Schedule: You choose the times — available across Nepal, Australia, and Canada time zones
  • Format: Private Zoom, no other students
  • Session 1: Deep-dive into your latest score report. I identify your exact score-loss pattern task by task.
  • Middle sessions: Targeted practice on your two or three weakest tasks, with live feedback
  • Near the end: Full mock test under test conditions, with detailed post-test analysis
  • Materials: scoring system frameworks, task-specific templates and practice questions, plus personalised task-specific correction notes
  • Support: Direct WhatsApp access to me for 30 days post-session

Who Is 1-on-1 For?

  • Students who have already taken PTE Academic and are stuck 5-12 points below their target across 1-3 specific bands
  • Students in Australia, Canada, or other time zones who need sessions on their own time zone
  • First-time takers who want a structured routine — the 7-day or 17-day plan covers all four skills
  • Students who need to achieve your target score specifically for Australia PR — where the target is defined and the gap is narrow
  • Professionals with limited study time who need maximum efficiency

For Students in Australia and Canada

I currently coach students in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Toronto, and Calgary. Time zone scheduling for 1-on-1 is handled via WhatsApp — we find a time that works within 24 hours of your enquiry.

For students in Australia aiming for a 189 or 190 PR visa, focused sessions targeting your weak bands can be an efficient path. Many students aim to improve specific skill bands significantly through targeted practice on that skill. Results depend on your starting level, effort, and official scoring criteria.

Important: If you are applying for Canadian permanent residency or Express Entry, you need PTE Core — not PTE Academic. PTE Academic is for study permit and university admission purposes in Canada — it is not on IRCC's approved-test list for Canadian permanent residence (Express Entry, PNP, AIP, or CEC). Always confirm accepted tests with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

Common Mistakes When Choosing How to Prepare

  • Booking a test before taking a scored mock. Without a scored result you are guessing at your gap. Take one scored practice test first, then decide between self-study and a plan.
  • Picking the longest plan by default. A student who is 3 points short in Speaking does not need a month. A 7-day plan aimed at Read Aloud and Repeat Sentence is often enough. Longer plans are for bigger gaps.
  • Picking the shortest plan to save money when the gap is wide. If you are 15 points below target, a week of sessions will show you the problems but not give you time to fix them. You end up paying for a retake instead.
  • Self-studying for months after two failed attempts. If the score has not moved twice, the same routine will not move it a third time. Bring the score report to someone who can read it task by task.
  • Choosing a session time you cannot keep. Students in Sydney often book late-night slots and then miss them after a long shift. Pick a time you can hold every day for the whole plan, even if it is early morning.

Payment Methods

  • Nepal: eSewa, Khalti, bank transfer
  • Australia, Canada, other countries: Wise (formerly TransferWise)

How to Enroll

The fastest way is WhatsApp. Message me at +977 9825235082 with:

  1. Your target score (e.g., 79+ for Australia PR)
  2. Your most recent PTE score if you have one
  3. Which plan you are considering: 7 days, 17 days or 1 month

I'll schedule your first 1-on-1 session within the same day.

Or view the pricing page for the three plans and current prices for your country.

Conclusion

If this is your first attempt and your scored mock is close to target, self-study can get you there. If you have a score report that will not move, or you live abroad and need sessions on your own clock, a 1-on-1 plan is the faster route. Send me your score and I will tell you which one fits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we prepare PTE in 15 days?

Yes — 15 days of focused, criteria-aligned preparation can be enough for many Nepali students aiming for 65+ in each skill. The 17-day 1-on-1 plan covers all PTE Academic task types in this format, with one live session a day on your time zone. Students targeting 79+ for Australia PR usually need a longer runway — typically 4-6 weeks — especially with a specific blocking skill. Book a free score assessment to find out if 15 days is realistic for your target.

How much does PTE cost in Nepal?

PTE Academic in Nepal costs USD 248.60, Pearson's listed Nepal price, the same at every test centre, and your bank converts the USD charge to rupees at its own rate — verify the latest fee on the official Pearson PTE website before booking. Pearson occasionally offers discount vouchers; check the official site for current promotions. Pearson lists test centres in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Chitwan (Narayangarh), Tilottama and Itahari, with appointment availability varying by season.

Is 1 month enough for PTE?

For most Nepali students with conversational English, one month of structured preparation is enough to hit 65+ in each skill. Reaching 79+ for Superior English typically takes 5-8 weeks of focused practice on the blocking skill. The realistic timeline depends on your starting score, target, and the gap in enabling skills. Book a free score assessment to map your specific timeline before committing to an exam date. Verify exam booking availability on the official Pearson PTE website before finalising your schedule.
